We are so honored that our children were recipients of benefits made available through The PASS grant for government workers affected by the most recent shutdown. Even though we received back pay, it was not guaranteed that we would, and in those moments when we were shuffling around payments and commitments to various entities, The PASS grant was truly a blessing from God.
Our kids, Michael and Silease, are very active and we believe these activities not only contribute to their physical health, but also teaches them the importance of hard work and builds upon their leadership skills and their ability to work with others on a team. They have been able to utilize the funds for their participation on the Dale City Lightning Track Team (Spring/Travel Session), SwimKids Swimming Lessons, and Northern Virginia Select Spartans Tackle Football and Cheerleading – Diva Squad. They have already achieved success on the track team (placing in the top 3 every meet thus far for the shot put and turbo javelin events for their age group) and are hoping to make it to the AAU Junior Olympics in Greensboro, NC this summer. They are also doing well with swimming and other activities and we look forward to submitting more stories in the future to show our appreciation for the seeds you have planted in our children and in our community. Thanks for making a difference in our lives. We truly appreciate this opportunity that has been given to us through the joint efforts of Kids in the Game and NIKE. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
