Bend, Oregon – September 3, 2013 – Through their partnership with KIDS in the GAME, The ACTIVE Network, Inc. (NYSE:ACTV) successfully helped to fund registration fees of 25 kids attending the Adaptive Sports & Recreation Junior Wheelchair Camp, August 6-10, 2013.
At the camp, youth ages 4-18 were introduced to a variety of adaptive sports including softball, basketball, tennis, rugby, archery, bocce ball, kayaking, water skiing, sailing, yoga, hand cycling, and much more! Camp participants grew mentally and socially as they learned fundamentals of 17 adaptive sports.
ACTIVE Network hosts an annual Charity Challenge through their employee giving and wellness program ACTIVEx, in which funds are raised to support a cause aligning with their effort of making the world a more active place. Selected as the 2013 Charity Challenge Recipient, KIDS in the GAME supported underprivileged youth playing sports at youth sports organizations in the cities where funds were raised. Among these was Adaptive Sports & Recreation Association of San Diego.
“ACTIVE Network is proud to support ASRA. Through our relationship with delivery partner KIDS in the GAME, we’re excited to see our fundraising efforts truly go to work for these kids at the ASRA Wheelchair Camp. GAME ON”, says Arch Fuston, Director ActiveX.
“We greatly appreciate ACTIVE Network’s support in helping youth to attend the Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp. Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp is a fun, yet empowering experience for our 60 campers.
